 I decided to use this location to take my front cover image as I knew I wanted a plain background, as other doing my research i found that most of the backgrounds on RnB magazines are plain so it doesn't draw attention away from the cover image and other aspects. As well as that most of the backgrounds are either black or white so it is kept simple yet effective. However, because there wasn't a plain white or black background available to me at the time, I knew it would have to be edited. |  I chose this location for my background as I wanted to use a brick wall, as from my research I found a common assoicated with RnB music is urban or the city which has further connoations of a background of brick walls or graffiti. Therefore i decided to incorpate this into my photos. However, i knew this would need to be edited, as it doesn't look very RnB like, but will still need the basis for the background. Furthermore, I knew that the brick wall would look effective either darken or b&w |  In addition, I chose this background as I shows an artist at a music concert. Therefore, it would portray the fact that my magazine is a music magazine and not a different type of magazine eg lifestyle, as it shows a relationship between it being a music magazine and a concert. In addition, I knew the the use of a concert will entice and attract the target audience to buy the magazine, because this is something my target audience would expect to see and want. |
