Test footage

Focus:

Here we have me testing the different aspects of focusing. This enabled me to test out shallow focus as well as focus pull. This will enable me to get better shots while filming which makes it easier for us to edit post production as most oi the work will be done with he camera. This limited the test wasting as we often got test footage before the day of filming or while our cast members were changing outfits, therefore we used our time effectively. Which helped us with time management.

Smoke bombs:

Since we was in a well ventilated out door space we decide to test the smoke bombs o see what location it will be best at given the direction of wind. This enabled us to be able to test the timings needing for the video. However, we hit a problem when the smoke bombs wouldn't like even though we followed the instructions clearly. Therefore we had to think of an alternative to do with fire/smoke as they are common words in the song. Thus to solve our problem we came up of the idea for burning a 'love letter'.

Lighting:

We tried different elements of lighting to see what would work best with narrative and mise en scene of the music video. We tried many types of lighting such as natural lighting and fairy lights. We also tried to flicker the lights so it could add to the dramatic element of the song. However,m we was unsuccessful due to the late reaction time of the lights. Therefore, we deiced that if we wanted to bring the idea of flickering lights forward then we would have to do it post production while editing. As well as focusing our main attention on the fairy lights which not only adds to the lighting but also the mise- en-scene of the video.

Locations

Before we starting filming we wondering around the beach to se the different locations that there was. We found many locations that we could sue such as an arcade, as well as a platform and groyne. We decided that we could use this to our advantage eg we could have her walking out into the sea. We also found rock Armour which we could also use for a different part of the scene as well as how the location can be used to its full potential. And make our music video the best it can be. This is also effective as we found that at different points of the day the tide was high and low, and therefore when the tide was high we decide to film most of the shoots where she is seen next to the sea to empahises the 'white water''.

Angles

Here we are seen testing the different angles we could use at different points in time to show there full effectiveness .. We tried many angles such as over the shoulder. As well as both me and Jenny filming different angles at the same time, to get the same shot just from a different perspective.
