Song choice development

There are many different songs that we looked in order to see what ideas we can fit to make the song. As there is a relationship between our lyrics and visual.

White Water - MY

What we like about this song is that the there are lots of tempo changes. Therefore we are able to have some parts of the video slow and reflective which is then contrast by a powerful scene such as hitting of drums

Devil and the deep- Arlissa

We didn't use this song as we felt like we wouldn't be able to get a strong narrative out of it and it would mainly be performance based. However, after conducting our research such as what out target audience like. We decided that it was going to be an equal split between narrative and performance.

Team - Lorde

We didn;t chsoe thi s song as we thought it was too focuded on a storyline rather than the main artist. And we wanted our focus of the music video to be on the main artist instead of the artist portaying a methphor for something else.

Burning - Christina Perri

We like this song because it is a song that is slow but also picks up so you could do something dramatic such as a turn of events or something happening in the narrative. But we didn't use this song because Christina Perri is a big artist who has a powerful voice therefore it could be hard to lip sync her vocals.

Try - Colbie Caillat

We didn't pick this song as we felt as if we didn't have ideas to establish a link between visuals and the music. Therefore the song wouldn't be reflected through the music.

Invicable - My

We didn't use this song as we felt like we wouldn't be able to get a strong narrative out of it and it would mainly be performance based. And mainly acoustic instruments which means it will be chilled and a relaxed video. Maybe something in a staged or concert environemnt.

A thousand years - Christina Perri

We didn't choose thing song as we felt like it wasn't made for our style of editing. As we wanted to show of our editing skills through many things such as face pace cuts to fit the song but we felt as if we were limited with ideas off how to editing to a song like this because of its tempo.

we didn't choose this song as we thought it was too 'lovey dovey; for us to make a music video for it whcih flowed with the stroyline.As we wanted to pick a song that we could realisticly portay the narrative in our interpretation of the song.
