Rough cut and feedback

Throughout the construction process of of music video we were always looking for feedback in order to improve what we already have and to add to the ideas that we had. We had multiple feedback from many people including our target audience, teachers as well as other media students who are always making a music video. His enabled us to not only have feedback from our target audience of what they expect to see/. But also from our teachers and peers who are well equip with the key words and conventions of music videos in order to not only have expectations but to also make sure that it fits the conventions of music videos.

Feedback

  • Narrative isn't clear, add more scene to make it clear and flow more easily.

  • Change the beginning  font of 'water water' it doesn't fit the genre of the song as well as the fact that it doesn't look like a music video opening title.

  • The artist looks the part well done.

  • I like the end shot and how there is a link between what we see and what we hear.

  • Good use of different camera shots and angles in order to make e the music video move.

  • Maybe add another location in order to make the narrative flow better.

  • Maybe reconsider some of the timings of your shots, because some of them are too long.

  • I like how the location of the beach matches the lyrics and title of the song.

  • With the repetition of the word 'smoke' maybe we should see something about smoke or fire.

Rough cut 1

Rough cut 2

Narrative is much more clear, I can now tell that it is about a broke relationship

I like the fact that all 3 locations of the studio, beach and arcade all link together.

The name of the music video is very clear, I like how you incorporated both aspects of the narrative and performance so we can know the story behind the lyrics.

I like how the camera moves and we can see the ,main artist from different angles and shots, it makes it feel like we are in the music video as well can see all aspects of the story.

All band members look the part, as if they are a girl band that produced that song.

I like how the pace of the editing is im time with the speed of the song, as when the tempo speeds up so does the editng.

Maybe add more video transitions as I can only see 1 fade to black at the end.But they are often used throughout pop songs to signify a change in location/outfit.

There are ;arts of the music video that look different quality to each other. Makes some parts of the music video not look professional.

Include more editing skills eg focus pull to really show of your talent.

I dont like how the camera moves sometimes like that shot where we can't see the top of her head.

Maybe include some editing effects such as strobe lighting in order to add different lightings.
